Mr. Brennan was born in Omaha, Nebraska, but spent the major part of his youth in Dallas, Texas and Roanoke, Virginia. He graduated from Roanoke Catholic High School and attended Virginia Military Institute for one year.

Mr. Brennan was drafted into the United States Army. He was trained as a medical corpsman and served in the Republic of Vietnam. In Vietnam, Mr. Brennan served with field units of the 25th Infantry Division. While serving in Vietnam, he was awarded the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star for Heroism in combat.

After serving in the Army, Mr. Brennan attended the University of Arizona, where he received a B.A. in Political Science. Mr. Brennan then moved to Northern California where he started a construction business that was primarily involved in residential remodeling. He continued that business until he moved to Charlottesville, Virginia. Subsequently, he undertook courses of study at the University of Virginia, where he earned a law degree and a M.A. in International Relations.

Mr. Brennan is a local attorney with the law firm of Brennan & Waite, P.L.C. and has lived in the Vienna/Oakton area since 1987. His law practice is dedicated to serving the needs of businesses, both large and small, and includes business sales and acquisitions, general civil litigation, business counseling, debtor/creditor law, business formation and receivables collection. Mr. Brennan's professional experience includes complex commercial litigation and intensive bankruptcy experience. He has also been employed in the general counsel's office of a regional corporation, where he managed corporate litigation and provided legal advice regarding operations.
